When Pentecost had come the disciples were in one accord.
The past few weeks we have been saying that if the church can shed its disunity and indifference it will become what Jesus designed it to be: an unstoppable missional and redemptive force that storms the “gates of hell” (Matthew 16:18) and transforms our nation.
Yes, that’s the kind of power the church has. We saw this power on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to reach people for Christ they previously could not and thus transform all of Jerusalem. However, what precipitated this divine enablement? The disciples were in “one accord.” No they weren’t driving the best-selling car made by Honda but they were unified in prayer and their mission to make this world a better place through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are Christ followers today because the early disciples knew they were stronger together and needed to be for the sake of the world.
Practically, we take our first steps in implementing our “one accord” strategy today at 4:00 and 6:00 PM. We will “center” around meals so that we can can love, pray, and minister to each other more in Jesus’ Name! All of this will help us become stronger together. So be there or be less than circular, even if you have to come in something other than a Honda (lol).
