Balancing Act

Proverbs 19:8 says “Grow a wise heart – you’ll do yourself a favor;  Keep a clear head – you’ll find a good life.”

Ever feel like your life is out of balance?

When my daughters, Lila and Sadie were little, I took them to the Circus Aquatica that was playing in town.  During the show, there was a couple walking a tightrope high in the air.  Lila watched them carefully and asked, “Daddy, what do they call that?”

Without even thinking I responded, “life.”

Life is delicate balancing act.  It’s a tightrope walk high in the air with over-commitment on one side and under-commitment on the other…and it’s up to each of us to walk carefully on that rope, not falling prey to Satan’s tricks of pride (which causes us to attempt too much) or of fear (which causes us to attempt too little).

So…are you doing too much — or too little?

Have you taken time to talk about this with Jesus?

When, not if, you do, please make sure to listen carefully to His thoughts on living a balanced life.

He wants us to have a life of abundance, which can only come with a balanced life that is  right for you and your loved ones.
